Fannie Mae

Jasmine initially joined Fannie Mae as an INROADS summer intern. Five years later, as a senior associate supporting Single-Family programs and employee engagement, she reflects on the supportive culture that has allowed her to grow both professionally and personally.

Fannie Mae strives to support our employees in every way possible — by nurturing fulfilling careers, encouraging work-life balance, and creating a community with meaningful connections.

From student to senior associate, we’re with you all the way.

Jasmine is a shining example of how continued development and educational opportunities for early career talent is important from day one. At Fannie Mae, campus associates benefit from our 12-month development program and specialized training that immerse new hires into our culture, our mission, and our industry so they can build a strong foundation for their future.

“Immediately after graduating, I was able to form connections that helped me really grow in my early career. And I’m proud now to be a senior associate, approaching my fifth year and doing work that really fulfills me.”

Employee resource groups: making a Fortune 500 feel like a close community.

Jasmine is part of the African Ancestry Business Leaders for Excellence Employee Resource Group (ABLE ERG). Fannie Mae’s many active ERGs advance cultural awareness and understanding of the diverse communities within Fannie Mae. Each employee can join any of the ERGs and connect with other employees they don’t work with on a regular basis.

“Being a part of the ABLE ERG has just been really pivotal in forming connections. It’s great that Fannie Mae has ERGs that allow us to form those connections and do the work that we love to do.”

The ABLE ERG gives Jasmine more opportunities to network with coworkers and nurture her career while also developing relationships with colleagues on a more personal level. The ERG empowers her to take pride in her ancestry and be her authentic self at work. “I really feel like I am a part of a group where we want to uplift each other. We listen to each other and really care about our life outside of work.”

Fulfilling work meets flexible work-life balance.

Jasmine comes to work with pride knowing that what she does helps more people find and stay in their homes. “Being energized in the work that I do, and really feeling like I make a difference, is what makes me so proud to tell people I work at Fannie Mae,” she says.

From day one to year five and beyond, our employees have the opportunity to do purpose-driven work that impacts people nationwide. This mission drives passion in their careers. What makes the work worthwhile is the positive, welcoming environment that surrounds it. Benefits with an emphasis on work-life balance and whole-person wellness help employees like Jasmine really thrive at work, and at home.

“There are countless benefits that make me feel prioritized and valued as an employee. Flexible work and tuition repayment assistance would have to be my favorites.”

Jasmine says, “You generally have the flexibility to decide when you go in the office, depending on what best fits your schedule. Combining my generous vacation hours with days off for Federal holidays, I can truly celebrate with my family and refuel. I think it shows that Fannie Mae really cares about their employees and allows us to have work-life balance.”
