Recently, the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Transportation announced the Location Affordability Portal, a tool to help consumers and communities understand the combined costs of housing and transportation.  The press release announcing the Portal can be found here, and the Portal itself can be found here.

Zach Oppenheimer, Senior Vice President at Fannie Mae, made the following statement:

"Fannie Mae supports efforts such as the joint HUD/DOT Location Affordability Portal that deliver valuable information and insight as we work together with government officials and the housing finance industry to prevent foreclosures and build a sustainable housing system."
