FAQs About Giving Consent to Technology Service Providers (TSPs)

These FAQs answer common questions for lenders about giving permission (called “consent”) to TSPs so the TSPs can use Fannie Mae’s applications on your behalf. If you need more help, please contact the Technology Support Center.

Consent means you agree to let a TSP access and use Fannie Mae applications on your behalf.

  • It makes sure only trusted TSPs can access and use Fannie Mae’s applications on your behalf.
  • Fannie Mae needs your clear “yes” to permit access to your data.

When you say yes to a TSP:

  • They can access and use the Fannie Mae application connected to the SystemID for which you have provided the consent.
  • They keep access as long as consent is in place, which can be revoked (see FAQ #4 for revocation).

Yes — but only for the same SystemID.

  • Your consent works for all current and future applications under that SystemID.
  • You do not need to give consent again for new applications from the same TSP for that same SystemID.

Yes — you are in charge.

  • You can revoke consent anytime.
  • Go to the Technology Manager Portal to do this.
  • Once you revoke consent, the TSP loses access right away.

If you do not give consent:

  • The TSP cannot use Fannie Mae’s applications on your behalf.
  • Your data stays private and untouched.
  • It lasts forever so long as Fannie Mae provides its services to TSPs — unless you revoke it or the TSP to lender relationship ends.
  • Once you revoke consent, the TSP loses access right away.

No.

  • You cannot allow more than one TSP to use the same SystemID.

No.

  • Only you (the Lender) can give or revoke consent.
  • TSPs cannot do it for you.

This might happen because:

  • You already gave consent for that SystemID. Confirm the consent in Technology Manager.
  • The SystemID is not set up to access TSP software.
  • There might be a setup problem.
