Brandon Hamara
Brandon Hamara is Co-President of Fannie Mae and serves on the company's board of directors. In this capacity he is responsible for leading the development and execution of the strategic plan for the organization, focused on driving innovation and organizational performance in support of our mission to provide liquidity and access to the U.S. housing finance system.
In this role, Brandon works closely with COO and acting CEO, Peter Akwaboah, and Co-President, John Roscoe, to ensure future and accelerated profitability in a safe and sound manner.
Mr. Hamara has expertise in real estate, homebuilding, land development, and housing finance. Before joining Fannie Mae in 2025, Mr. Hamara spent nearly two decades in the homebuilding industry.
He previously served on the Board of Directors at Freddie Mac, where he chaired the Risk Committee and was a member of the Audit and Executive Committees.
For nearly a decade, Hamara was lead adjunct instructor and facilitator in Santa Barbara City College's real estate department, teaching a broad curriculum of real estate and finance courses.
As a volunteer, he has served on the Board of Directors for The American Red Cross Central California division, where he held dual leadership positions while supporting emergency operation command during natural disasters.
Hamara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Master of Real Estate Development degree from the University of Southern California.
