MBS Buyup and Buydown Ratios

Lenders may buyup or buydown the guaranty fee rate on loans in a Fannie Mae Mortgage-Backed Security (MBS) in exchange for a one-time payment from or to Fannie Mae. Buyup/buydown ratios are posted by MBS issue month for most MBS-eligible products.

MBS Buyup and Buydown Grids Availability Update Exclamation Point

Starting with October MBS issuance, a single buyup and buydown grid will be posted on the 6th business day of the month and will need to be obtained by accessing Message Manager or contacting your Fannie Mae regional office. The grids will no longer be available on this web page. Review Selling Guide Announcement SEL-2014-10 for more information.
