Required Documents for REO Appraiser Registration

Assemble the following required documents and information before you begin to register. Our registration process requires that you upload the following documents:

  • Completed W-9 form.
  • Insurance certificate(s).
  • Full contact information for the primary vendor contact, and ordering and remit-to addresses.
  • Resumé.
  • Third-party diversity certificates (if applicable).
  • Certificate of membership to a professional organization (optional).

The following questions are a part of the process of becoming a supplier for Fannie Mae. You may wish to gather in advance the information you need to respond to these questions .

  • Have you ever been a Fannie Mae vendor?
  • If you answered yes to the above question, please provide your Fannie Mae vendor number and the last date on which work was performed.
  • How many years of residential appraisal experience have you had?
  • Are you state licensed or certified?
  • Do you have appraisal experience in external or functional issues?
  • Do you have experience in estimating repairs?
  • Have you ever performed appraisals for HUD purposes?
  • Have you ever performed appraisals for relocation purposes?
  • Have you ever performed appraisals for REO purposes?
  • What percentage of your assigned work over the past two years has been REO or relocation work?
  • Have you ever been removed from a HUD or VA panel?
  • If you answered yes to the above question, please provide an explanation.
  • Do you have any staff or appraiser trainees that have fewer than five years of appraisal experience?
  • In which county or city do you complete 70 percent of your appraisals?
  • Are you a managed company?
  • Do you have any experience in performing retrospective field reviews?
  • What percentage of your work over the past two years was field review work?
  • What percentage of your work over the past two years was desk review work?
  • What is your maximum capacity in process, while still maintaining an eight-day turn time?
  • Are you a FHA approved appraiser?
  • Do you use Appraisal Port?
  • Can you use AI ready delivery format?
  • Can you deliver appraisals in PDF format?
  • Can you deliver appraisals in XML format?
  • Is there anyone at your company who is, or is affiliated with, a current Fannie Mae employee or board member? If so, please provide the name, title, and dates of employment of the Fannie Mae employee. If they are affiliated with a Fannie Mae employee, provide the manner of association (e.g., sister, business partner) to the employee, and the name and title of the person associated with the Fannie Mae employee.
  • Please provide information regarding your company's management team (i.e., name, title, years of experience, years with company).
  • Please list professional organizations in which you hold membership (i.e., organization, date joined).
  • Please provide references of Corporate/REO, or third-party clients that you have served recently (i.e., company name, phone, number of listings in the past 12 months).
