- We are working smarter, says Gunther Schultz, Fannie Mae’s vice president – securities administration and disclosure operations. “In 2015, we decided to invest in our technological operations to examine the costs and connections between hundreds of applications.” For our customers, improving our technical infrastructure will make it easier and more efficient to do business with us.
- As the leading provider of financing for multifamily properties in the United States, we want to lead the way in environmentally sustainable, affordable housing. “When property owners and builders reduce the energy and water consumed by homes, it positively impacts millions of lives each day,” says Chrissa Pagitsas, director of Fannie Mae’s Multifamily Green Initiative.

Human Rights Campaign (HRC) – 2017, 2016, 2015
The perfect Corporate Equality Index (CEI) rating acknowledges Fannie Mae’s public commitment to advancing lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) equality. The HRC is the largest organization working to gain equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people. It developed the CEI as a benchmarking tool on corporate policies and practices. Through our programs – which include same-sex partner and transgender benefits, an LGBT employee resource group, recruitment efforts, and more – we’re ensuring that Fannie Mae is a friendly environment for all of our workforce.

This is the second consecutive year that the company has been included on the list. The award honors the work of the region’s leading in-house legal practitioners and departments that demonstrate leadership, innovation, perseverance, and strategic engagement.
2016 NAFE Women of Excellence
National Association for Female Executives – October 2016
The annual NAFE Women of Excellence Awards honor the achievements of outstanding women committed to serving and enriching their workplaces, their communities and the world. The Community Service award was given to a Fannie Mae executive who is changing the face of neighborhoods through initiatives to provide services that help other women and girls succeed.
National Association for Business Economics – September 2016
This award acknowledges our chief economist and his team for the accuracy of their macroeconomic forecasts. Fannie Mae is the first recipient in the award's history to receive the honor for two consecutive years.

Affordable Housing Finance – September 2016
The news organization celebrates ‘Young Leaders’ that play vital roles in the creation and preservation of affordable housing. A Fannie Mae director was recognized for her help to provide financing and her role in leading the development of new products that draw liquidity to affordable rental housing.

MReport – September 2016
MReport acknowledged the achievements of eleven Fannie Mae executives for their work in housing finance. The publication named our chief risk officer a "Power Player" for her role in developing a global risk strategy to enable Fannie Mae to remain a source of stable housing finance. The publication also acknowledged ten women as “Leading Ladies” who have dedicated their careers to bettering the future of the mortgage and housing industries.

The nonprofit’s mission is to increase the percentage of women on U.S. company boards to 20 percent or greater by the year 2020. The campaign named us one of the organizations that values board diversity —36 percent of our board members are women.
