Credit counselors offer advice on budgeting, obtaining and understanding credit reports, and resolving credit problems.

Default/Delinquency
Default/delinquency counselors offer advice on how to work with a lender in making timely mortgage payments, how to work with a lender if circumstances prevent making mortgage payments, and how to develop and live within a budget.

Home Buyer Education
Home-buyer education providers give advice on preparing for homeownership, shopping for a home, obtaining a mortgage, preparing for closing and settlement, and life as a homeowner.

Landlord counselors prepare consumers to become landlords of two- to four-unit, owner-occupied homes.
